When you quit smoking you will have withdrawals. This is caused by the lack of nicotine in your system that your body is used to. When the nicotine level in your body drops below its wanted level your body will react to the absence of its favorite food. So mental of physical factors must be addressed and dealt with for you to quit smoking successfully.

Your withdrawal symptoms usually begin after a few hours of your last cigarette. These will continue and peak around the three day mark, which is when most of the nicotine is gone from your body. It is your body’s last stand to get its favorite drug back. After three days the withdrawal symptoms will continue up to several more weeks, but they will not be as intense as the first few days. So just remember that it can and will get easier. Quit smoking one minute at a time.

When quitting smoking there will be numerous withdrawal symptoms you can develop.

Withdrawal symptoms could be any of these:

  • Headaches
  • Tiredness
  • Weight gain
  • Trouble sleeping

These can make any ex-smoker want to start smoking again.Remember if you start smoking now you will erase everything and start back at the beginning. So stick with it!
